Description
WWII pilots in the UK had great natural cotton jacket impregnated by a special process to make it waterproof. They had to have fire resistant stuff. We have nice merino wool underwear, but now we need the outerwear to be made of natural fibers (organically grown) too. The same or similar impregnation process could be used to replace chemical membrane products and strong fibers like hemp or knaff to replace the petroleum based ones. Just a matter of R+D. Zipper material could be made of organic resin composites as well.
Furthermore, it could have great safety implications for helicopter pilots and heli ski-guides that would be better off with more fire-resistant natural fiber clothing.
