The Freeride Idea Contest 2015

The idea is to make "TransformableSkis" wich can be either skis or either snowshoes. Such product would be especialy useful to freeriders in times where they need to go up the steep mountain after long descending.
In skis mode "TransformableSkis" wolde be like evry other pair of skis, but when needed thay coud collapse in three pieces and form a snowshoe wich makes movement trough snow a lot easier.
In snowshoe mode "TransformableSkis" are made of three pieces of ski joined together plus durable and rugh fabric underneath for bether grip.

There are already the Yupis which are like ski/snowshoes with skins that allow you to climb up steep stuff and walk on flat. Otherwise, three piece skis would be a serious compromise in ski performance and moving through the mountains is already much better with skis than with anything else, especially with fat rockered skis. ptor

There are diferent types of snow and for some of them walking with long ski is just to hard. I agree that there could be some compromise in performance, but over the time and with technological advance that could be overcomed to. Uros Obradovic

When I signed in competition I tought this is going to be best idea I coud think of, but at the end I think I produced more good ideas and I see that people like them. Uros Obradovic
