GPS-card

Description

By 2015 I expect that moutain resorts wold be all conneted in centralized GPS base, where they all would have gps cards, wich they will give to their guests.
GPS-cards will be given to all vistors and would contain basic info of person who carries it.
System would monitor movement of skiers and would activate alarm if GPS-card panic button is pressed or person is reported missing.
This way missing person cases coud be history.
Design will be similar to credit card, but with development of nano technology all GPS features wuld be available in it.
GPS-card cold be easily carried around neck or in some convenient pocet where it will be easy to press panic button in case of truble.

I don't want anybody tracking me nor having my information!!! However, it would make it easier for Italians to fine people or put them in jail for skiing off piste. Having a panic button could severely reduce the feeling of self-responsibility and respect in the mountains. Everybody already has a cell phone and everybody has their idea of what is an emergency. The ski-patrol could go crazy responding to lazy and stupid tourists. But in general you're right, it would eliminate missing persons. ptor

Well it would be easy to chack whether it was a false alarm or not. Tracking info couldnt be seen unless aou press panic button. I know that everybody have cellphones today but this way safety services would immediately know aour coordinates and resque you in meather of minutes. Uros Obradovic

i think the gps card is a great idea. it is useful and practical. everyone has cell phones, but not everyone can get service. j_t0rr35
