Description
Freeriding is getting bigger and bigger, more and more skiers/snowboarders are going offpiste to have some powder runs. You can observe this developement in ski resorts like the Arlberg region, a huge skiing area.
But what about the small resorts that are fighting to survive in the competitive winter tourism environment? They dont have this huge freeride potential (or regular piste offering), because there is basically a limited space.
So i think there should be dedicated ski lifts for freeriders in small resorts (change regular piste to freeride piste), to access a freeride area. This could be a opportunity for smaller resorts to attract freeriders. And if there is no powder snow however, a lot of people enjoy to change the regular plane pistes for a more dificult, challenging runs for a time. Skiing is getting more varying. And the ski resorts save the costs for establishing plane pistes with machines, workers and so on.
Think about it!
Great idea! It could also be called "natural ski/ride areas" with the simplicity as an environmental slant. I say there should be an association of natural ski areas, spearheaded by places like Silverton Colorado, La Grave France and Gulmarg Kashmir to show by example and spearhead future ski-area development in this direction.
Also this way, a freeride ski are could become a site for environmental forestry practices. No more clearcuts for pistes, natural glading for low-key wood harvest and replanting glades in the case of areas transitioning back to natural.

Thanks! its like you say, you can market this type of natural ski/ride area together with some resorts and point out the environmental benefits, great concept!

thanks for the comment man, but WHY shouldnt there be dedicated ski lifts for freeriders, together with a great concept?

Lets see what the future brings, what and see it happen maybe
interesting opinion, it can be a good solution...

Yea it's good concept but you and me know that there would be need for to much money to build something like this. But we can always dream about it;)

i guess its like back in the 90s when there werent any freestyle parks in austrian resorts, and now...

You are very creative, you see the future with different eyes!:)
